This is a little fanfiction collaboration that Moongarm and myself came up with tonight. It basically takes place between episodes one through 4. Starting during Jango Fett's hunt of Komari Vosa.
And note: If anyone else has any ideas for this fiction, or would like a cameo, just let me or Moongarm know.
Disclaimer: Neither Moongarm or I own anything Star Wars related. We only own our O.C's. So here's the first post by me: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “Meetings” The planet of Coruscant was alive with activity, and the many night clubs amongst the planet wide city was no exception either. Inside one of the night clubs’ bar, sat a young woman in her mid-to late thirties, with shoulder length auburn hair, kept neatly in a tight French braid. An annoyed sigh escaped her lips as she glanced around, idly playing with a silver chain around her neck. The woman herself was attractive enough, as she wore a plain, simple white quarter-sleeved, collared, button up shirt, with a black jacket over top, along with black pants and black military-style ankle boots. ‘ Damn it..Where is he..? ‘ She scowled even more at the thought, impatiently tapping her left boot on the metal foot rest of her seat. Jango Fett’s eyes narrowed slightly behind his helmet as he walked into the night club that his last ‘informant’ had provided, saying that Jervis Gloom had taken up residence there to continue his drug dealings. He scowled slightly, as he gave a quick, efficient scan of the area before making his way to the back of the club, towards the bar for a better view of things. A small grin tugged at the corner of the woman’s mouth as she finally spotted her ‘target’ making his way towards her. ‘ All too easy..’ She mused, staring at him for a split second before speaking. “ I have several pieces of information on Jervis Gloom. “ She said simply, before turning back towards her drink. Jango blinked as he stared at the woman in front of him. “ It’s not wise to turn your back to a bounty hunter. “ He said dryly. “ Now, what’s this information that you have? “ He asked, taking a seat next to her, earning a soft, yet amused chuckle in response. “ Willing to talk that easily? I thought your personal code was ‘ trust no one’, Fett. “ He glared at her. “ Right on the mark. “ He drawled. “ Now, what about that information? “ The woman glanced over at him and grinned. “ A bit testy, are we? Here, have a drink on me, then we’ll talk. “ She replied, flagging the bar-tender over. Jango gave a soft, but frustrated sigh as the bar tender put his drink in front of him. “Who are you? “ He asked, giving her a suspicious glance through his visor. An amused look passed over the woman’s face, her grey-green eyes holding a mischievous glint to them. “ All in good time, Fett. “ She replied cryptically. ‘ I’m enjoying this way too much..’ She gave a mental chuckle at the thought, before turning her attention back to Jango. “ First off, what information have you been given on him? “ She asked. “ Considering it would be somewhat pointless if I gave you information that you already have. “ She added, taking a casual sip of her drink. Jango blinked as he stared at her. ‘ Calculating, and logical..Not bad.’ He mused, before glancing back at the woman sitting beside him. “ He’s a small time drug dealer who specializes in death sticks. “ He paused for a moment, giving a soft chuckle before he could stop himself. “ Other than the five thousand credit bounty on his head, that’s about all the information that I’ve been given. “ He said, gently resting his left arm against the bar table in a casual manner. The woman grinned at him again. “ Alright, I’ll give you my information on Gloom, but first..” She trailed off for a moment, before picking up again. “ Take off your helmet, I’d prefer to talk to you face to face. “ She said, taking another sip of her drink. Jango bit down on his lower lip in annoyance. Providence, was this woman demanding. “ Fine. “ He said, reaching up and taking his helmet off, his dark chocolate brown eyes clearly showing the vast irritation that he was feeling about being ordered around by a woman. “ Start talking. “ He said sharply, causing the woman to chuckle again. “ You’re right about Gloom being a small time dealer. “ She said. “ However, rumor has it that he does have some ties to..Shall I say, ‘ higher authorities ‘ in the drug dealing business. “ “ ‘Higher authorities’ ? “ Jango asked, crossing his arms lightly over his chest. The woman shrugged. “ One of the gangsters who runs a nerf-processing plant comes to mind. “ “ And this gangsters name would be..? “ “ Hey, if I revealed that, then your hunt wouldn’t be much of a challenge now, would it? “ The woman countered, grinning even more, lightly drumming her fingers on the side of the glass bottle she was holding. “ Is that all you have? “ He asked, his patience quickly running thin. The woman gave a curt nod in reply. Jango thought for a moment, then stood up, putting his helmet back on in the process. “ We should exchange com-link codes, if you find out any more information, I’ll transfer some cred’s into your account and- “ He was cut off mid-sentence as he heard a cold chuckle coming from his right. “ Never thought I’d find you here, Fett. “ Jango glanced to his right and glared hatefully at the man. “ Montross. “ He hissed. Montross chuckled again. “ Thought you said that you ‘trust no one’ ? “ He mocked. “ And yet, you allowed yourself to believe the ‘information’ that your last ‘informant’ gave you. “ “ I think it would be best if you left, Montross. “ Jango said through clenched teeth. Montross sneered. “ I think not, Fett. “ He said, as he swung his right fist towards Jango’s head. Jango growled as he ducked under Montross’s attack, and slammed his fist into his rival’s stomach. The young woman rolled her eyes as a full out bar fight broke out. “Men..” She muttered softly under her breath, grabbing an empty bottle off the table by its neck. “ I hope you know that you’re not getting out of this one alive, Fett. “ Montross snarled, as he grabbed hold of Jango and slammed him into a nearby wall. ‘ Not if I can help it..’ The woman thought, as she stood behind Montross, and smashed the bottle she was holding, right over his head. “ Forgetting about someone? “ She asked coldly, drawing both men’s attention. A snarl escaped Montross’s lips as he let go of Jango and whirled around to face the woman behind him. “ Bold move, for a skinny thing like you. “ He sneered, looking her up and down. The woman snorted. “ I’m stronger than I look. “ She retorted, casually placing her hands behind her back, to allow her left hand to grab hold of her concealed M-9 baretta. Montross snorted as he reached for a small blaster holstered on his hip. “ Really now? “ He asked, sneering even more. The woman glared, whipping out her own weapon and pointing it at his head, clicking the safety off and cocking the baretta back to allow her to fire. “ Don’t even think about it. “ She spat. “ And tell me..” She paused for a moment, before continuing. “Do you know what a nine millimeter copper-jacket slug will do to the frontal bone at close range?” The woman thought for a moment and laughed. “ Suffice to say, bits and pieces of your skull and brains will be splattered all across this god-damn night club.” She said coldly, lightly resting her finger on the trigger. Montross snarled before glancing around. “ This isn’t the last time we’ll meet..Both of you. “ He said, before swiftly making his way to the front door. ---------------------- TBC..... If she hadn’t been given the mission by the masters themselves, Rune Greer might have considered taking the rest of the night off and resuming her search in the morning. But when one is given a mission from part of the Jedi council, to watch one of the most infamous Sith Lords-turned-good-guy-who-disappeared-for-a-long-time, one does not simply go to bed.
Master Windu’s exact words had been, “Keep her well within your sights, Rune, under any means necessary, and clean up after her. We cannot have her recklessness associated with the Council or any other Jedi. The people are anxious enough, without anymore Revan incidents.”
When Rune had asked why she was the best suited to the job, Master Yoda had replied, “Neutral party, you are, yes? Jedi you are not, but trusted you are.”
Master Ki-Adi-Mundi had simply added, “You have the training, diligence, and understanding necessary for this delicate situation.” They gave her all her information, supplies and how to get them, all her ‘field notes’ as she called them. Now she was wandering down one of Coruscant’s many nightclub filled avenues, trying to figure out which one Revan, or Kira as she went by now, could possibly be in. Asking people wouldn’t work in this situation and direct contact wouldn’t work either. Kira would probably murder her as it was, when she found out Rune’s mission. Rune shook her head. What could happen, never would happen if she didn’t find Kira, now would it? Rune slumped down into the seat of the little four person speeder she had rented. The upside of this mission had so far been that she was able to get whatever she needed to help herself... Sirens suddenly started up not too far away. Rune twisted her head about to see where they were coming from, just as they went whipping by. She blinked once, mentally pointed at the now receding sirens and muttered “Kira.” She slipped out of her parking place and went whipping down the avenue after them. Then she went whipping by them. It would be even harder to find Kira if she had to go into hiding from the authorities. Her sensitive hearing had already picked out an area on the avenue where the ‘concentration’ of noise had grown. Rune could see a club where people were rushing out. “That’s the one,” she growled. She slammed the speeder into a spot along side the club, earning yelps and curses from the people that were too close. Rune vaulted out of the car with the ease of someone who had had years of practice and pushed her way through the crowd to the door. Pausing the door to gain her bearings, she was knocked out of the way by an angry looking man. She grabbed his shoulder and yanked him around to face her, sweetly saying, “Don’t make me rip off your arms and beat you to death with them.”
The man grimaced at her and said, “What is it with women today?”. As he stalked off, she spun around to look at the two people standing up at the bar.

The woman blinked as she stared at Rune. " Who the hell are you? The Calvary? " She asked sarcastically, ignoring the pointed and extremely irritated glare that Jango was throwing at her.
He bit down on his lip again as he spoke. “ And I’d like to know who you are. “ He said, as he continued to glare at the woman beside him. She sighed as she gave him a sidelong glance. “ My name’s Kira Solaris. “ She replied smoothly. “ Why the hell does it matter to you? “ She asked, crossing her arms lightly over her chest.
Jango clenched his fists and glared at her even more. “ As I see it, I think I deserve some compensation, since you humiliated me during that fight. “
Kira stared at him and blinked a couple times. “ Excuse me? I humiliated you? “ She asked incredulously. “ At least I wasn’t the one who got themselves into a god damn bar fight with a rival. “ She spat.
He snarled as he drew his blaster in the blink of an eye and aimed it at her chest. “ If you ever talk to me like that again, I will kill you. Whether your information is any use to me or not. “ He hissed, his patience finally reaching the limit.
Kira gripped her M-9 as she threw Jango a nasty look. “ Not a wise move, Fett. “ She replied coldly. “ I’m not someone that you should cross. “ She warned, earning an amused snort in reply.
“ Neither am I” Jango hissed, his blaster never moving an inch.

Rune blinked her amber eyes. Who the hell was that man? He looked like a bounty hunter... Rune pressed her thumb and index of her right hand to her eyes, as the two fought. This could not bode well. She took a deep breath and walked right in between the two of them, Kira to her right, the bounty hunter her left.
Rune tilted her head towards Kira, “Mhmm, damn right I am. Now, move it up, double time!” She tilted her head towards the man, “And you are coming with us whether you like it or not. You two can finish your tantrums in the back seat.” She took one step back, spun around on her heel and marched out the door. “They only said keep an eye on you, not keep you alive, damn it!” she muttered.
As Rune vaulted into the speeder, she glanced back, "Well? Where to?"

“Deeper into the depths of the Entertainment District, Gloom has to be around here somewhere...” Jango replied, as he finally lowered his blaster and re holstered it. Kira thought for a moment, before turning her gaze towards Jango. “Fine by me…” She said. “Oh, and Jango…? “ Kira finished, a mischievous glint suddenly forming in her grey-green eyes.
He crossed his arms as he stared at Kira. “What?”
Kira grinned wickedly as she raised her right hand, and defiantly flicked her middle finger up at him. “And that is my response to your threat" She quipped, turning her attention back to Rune. Jango blinked once, then once more for good measure.
“…And that means..? “ He asked, earning an amused snort in reply.
“Like hell I’m going to tell you. “ Kira said, briefly glancing over her shoulder at him.
Jango glared at her from behind his visor. “…And people wonder why I tend to avoid women at all costs...” He grumbled, following Kira and Rune out of the night club and towards Rune’s speeder.

Co post between Moon and Rev:
Jango growled softly as he shook his head. “…What the hell have I done to deserve this? “ He muttered quietly to himself.
Jango bit down on his lower lip as he silently fumed. ‘Damned women...These two will surely be the death of me. More specifically the one sitting next to me...’ He thought angrily to himself, as he continued glaring at Kira.
Rune snorted as Kira and Jango climbed into the speeder, “If you can’t figure out the general meaning of that gesture, you have less intelligence than a rancor does.”
Kira bit down on her lip to prevent herself from laughing. "...Well, that's putting it lightly.." She mused, turning her attention towards Jango. " Think of the gesture of meaning 'Go space yourself'..Only more..." She thought for a moment. " Barbaric.." She finished, unable to prevent a chuckle from escaping her lips this time. Kira blinked as a thought came to mind. " Speaking of said obscene gesture, how the hell do you know what that means? " She asked, narrowing her eyes at Rune in suspicion.
Rune blinked her warm, amber eyes. “Better question is where you learned that gesture,” She paused for a moment as she focused on pulling the speeder out of its cramped parking spot. “I believe that I learned the meaning of that gesture in a similar, if not the same, place that you learned to use that gesture.” She prayed that Kira would notice how she hadn’t mentioned the specific place. If a bounty hunter learned of that place it could be very dangerous... Rune shrugged, “I’m a shapeshifter. I tend to find myself in odd places.”
Kira chuckled at that. “Just need to make sure the situation doesn’t become FUBAR, right? “ She whispered quietly, leaning forwards in her seat, so that only Rune could hear her.
Rune never turned her head, but she gave the distinct impression that, if she had had more animal like ears, one would have flicked itself at Kira. She concentrated on the drive for several moments silently, wondering exactly what to do with the extra prize she had earned. He was a treat, that much was certain.... and Kira wasn’t really helping the situation. Rune let a gusty sigh and murmured, “Whatever will be, will be.” More loudly, she asked, “So where will it be ladies?”
Jango threw a nasty look towards Rune. “I already told you, the entertainment district. “ He said through clenched teeth, his hand hovering over one of his twin Westars.
A soft sigh escaped Kira’s lips as she shook her head. “Men…They never know when to quit…” She muttered quietly under her breath.
‘There has to be a way out of this…The driver, the girl, she should be easy to take out...But still...It’s the woman beside me that I have to worry about…’ Jango scowled slightly behind his helmet, lost in thought.

Co Post:
“Oi! I’m driving. So no back talk and move your hand away from the blaster... just remember I can kill us,” Rune added sweetly. She moved the speeder expertly through traffic, looking for all the world like she drove bounty hunters and crazy women (for that was what she had dubbed Kira in her head) every night.
He glanced over at Kira for a brief moment before speaking. “Once we’ve reached the entertainment district, I’ll ensure that some credits are transferred into your account." Jango crossed his arms over his chest before adding, “Then you can be on your way. “ He said firmly.
Kira blinked before giving an amused snort. “Don’t think that you can get rid of me so easily, Fett. I’m coming with you…” A wicked grin tugged at the corner of her lips as she continued speaking. “Whether you like it or not.”
Rune winced slightly when she heard Kira say that. Freedom, so close yet so far. "As long she's with you, I'm with you," she declared, not really expecting to be heard.
“…What?! Wait just one karking minute. I work alone.” Jango glared at her as he allowed his left hand to hover over one of his twin Westars for the second time in ten minutes. “You’re not coming with me. That’s final.”
Kira shook her head as she flicked her middle finger up at Jango again. “Too bad, I’m coming with you. So stop complaining and act like a man.”
Jango snarled as he pulled out one of his blasters and aimed it at Kira’s head. “I didn’t just hear you say that.” He remarked coldly. “However, if you insult me again, be it verbally or with that karking hand gesture, I will kill you.”
“I’ve been threatened with death more times than you have, Fett. I’m used to it.” Kira replied, in an equally cold tone of voice. “It’ll take more than threatening to shoot me with a blaster in order to rattle my cage.” She glanced straight ahead for a brief moment. “We’re coming up to the entertainment district.” She said, not bothering to look at Jango.
He growled softly and shook his head. “Kriffing hell…” He muttered. “Fine. The two of you can come. But no stupid tricks and you’ll be following my orders.” Jango said, glaring at both women, one of which was definitely starting to make his life miserable. “Am I clear on that?”

“So I noticed, considering I’m driving and all,” Rune replied to Kira, “And just so we’re clear, I did say I was a shapeshifter did I not? There’s no such thing as a stupid shapeshifter, just insane ones. I don’t think you would appreciate squid head, cocky bastard, bantha brain, or rancor face, so why don’t you pick a name for me to call you, hmm?” She paused for a minute as she pulled the little speeder into a just vacated parking spot and swiveled around in her seat, “If someone doesn’t pick a place to go in two clicks, you can get out and walk because I will not continue driving around aimlessly.”
Kira blinked, then chuckled softly. “And you thought that I was bad with insulting you...” She mused, glancing over at Jango.

Deciding to ignore Kira for now, Jango glanced around for a few moments, before spotting a landing pad. “You can park on that pad over towards your left. “ He said.
A small smile tugged at the corner of Kira’s lips as a thought came to mind. “Semper Fi…” She said quietly, gently running her left index finger down along the silver chain of her military dog-tags.
“I heard that,” Rune glanced over her shoulder, “And I know it means.” Rune pulled smoothly into a parking spot. She slid out of her seat and pulled off her jacket. Turning so that her back faced Kira, she lifted the back of her fitted white top and showed her lower back to the former Sith Lord. In elegant, scrolling letters were the words “Dum spiramus, tuebimur”. While we breathe, we shall defend. She put her jacket back on, and said quietly to Kira, “And I understand all to well.”
Kira smiled softly before replying. “Aye.” She said. “And us military women have to stick together, right? “ She added in a quiet voice so that only Rune could hear.
Jango scowled slightly as he stood on the landing pad, his arms crossed lightly over his chest. “I swear, if I lose my target because of you two…” He trailed off, unholstering his twin Westars in the process.
“Men…” Kira muttered softly under her breath, while completely and utterly ignoring Jango in the process as she climbed out of the speeder.
He shook his head and sighed as he started heading deep into the Entertainment District. “Kriffing woman…I swear she’ll be the death of me...” Jango muttered in a quiet whisper to himself.
Kira blinked, before shooting him an amused look. “Only if you keep on managing to tick me off enough…” She replied, earning a glare in return.
“What are you going on about? “ Jango asked, narrowing his eyes slightly in behind his helmet.
“Nothing…” Kira smirked slightly, thanks to her SPARTAN hearing, she had clearly heard what Jango had been muttering to himself.
Rune tipped her head back slightly and arched an eyebrow, “Weren’t you the one just complaining that you were going to lose your target? They ain't payin' me by the hour, so move!”
Jango bit the inside of his right cheek, ignoring Rune as he checked the bounty information that was currently displayed on his ‘Heads Up Display’. “According to the information my associate gave me, Gloom works in a warehouse on the far side of town.” He thought for a moment, then glanced back at his two ‘Partners’. “I’ll be taking point in any fire-fights, the two of you can hang back and prove covering fire-“
Kira coughed and shot him a nasty look as they continued to make their way into the Entertainment District. “Just because we’re women doesn’t mean that we can’t fight, Fett.” She said coldly, gripping one of her M9 Barettas in her left hand.”Now really, let’s get moving, we’ve already wasted enough time with this god damn pointless bickering.” She added, as she walked alongside Jango.

Rune followed after Kira. “He’s gonna have his ass shot off if he keeps sticking it out so far,” She growled. “What the hell makes him think I even use a gun?” She gave Kira a despairing glance, “Still a nice battle rifle with a sniper to top it off... hard to go wrong with that wouldn’t you say?”
Kira choked back a laugh at Rune’s first comment. “No kidding...Men…” She said, muttering the last bit of her sentence. “Battle rifle and sniper? They would be alright…But just give me a Splaser any day, and you’ve got one hell of a chaotic mess on your hands.” A sadistic grin tugged at the corner of her lips as the thought came to mind.
He glanced over at Kira and Rune and shook his head. “Do I even want to know what you’re talking about?” Jango asked, somewhat sarcastically.
A soft chuckle came in response. “It’s just two women talking about what weapons would be best suited to create chaos, nothing more.” Kira replied, giving a casual shrug of her shoulders.
“I think ‘insane women’ would be better suited in that sentence.” Jango said, earning a nasty look in response.
“Why is it that I have the sudden urge to kick you in the back of the knees?” Kira muttered, as she continued to glare at Jango.
“Oh stop whining. You should thing yourself fortunate for having us along. We’ll make just as big a mess as you do, in a third of the time!” Rune snapped at Jango. She slipped ahead of the others and cocked her head towards the nearest warehouse door. “Nothing in that one. I hear something from the next one over though.”
Jango sighed, and shook his head. “Kriffing women…” He muttered under his breath. “And I’m already aware of how much trouble the two of you can cause…More specifically you.” He said, staring straight at Kira.
She grinned again. “Thanks for the compliment, Fett. Now let’s get on track here.” Kira replied, increasing her pace so that she was a few steps ahead of Jango and Rune.
“…That wasn’t supposed to be a compliment!” Jango hissed softly. ‘Damned woman…She Kriffing infuriates me…The quicker we can get this mission over, the quicker I can be rid of her…’ He thought darkly.

Rune gestured from the next warehouse for them to quiet down and hissed, “Can you move like you have a purpose in life please? I’d like to get some sleep tonight!” There was a faint shimmer that rippled down Rune’s body. In her place stood a small Loper. She shook her beautiful red fur, snapping her wickedly barbed tail at the pair. With a “chhek” at them she disappeared through an almost unnoticeable hole in the corner of the warehouse door.
Kira blinked once, then once more for good measure. “This will prove to be interesting…” She mused, casting a brief glance over at Jango. Pausing for a brief moment, she reached up the back of her quarter sleeved shirt, and pulled out a elegantly curved, medium length hilt. “Ceremonial plasma sword…Gotta love it...” She grinned slightly as she activated it, allowing two streams of white hot plasma to arc for a split second, before forming into two deadly blades.
“Never seen a weapon like that before…” Jango mused, eying the sword with interest. “Wonder if it could block a lightsaber…” He trailed off; giving his head a light shake before peering into the warehouse. “Not much resistance so far…” He added quietly to himself.
“Maybe they’re waiting for us.” Kira replied, glancing back at Jango as a small smirk tugged at her lips.
Jango scowled slightly. “Will you stop eavesdropping?! It’s irritating…” He growled, earning an amused snort in response.
“Hey, I’m not the one who’s talking to myself now, am I?” Kira quipped, grinning even more.
“…” Jango shook his head, before entering the warehouse. “Enough, alright?! We’re not getting anywhere with all this talking."

Kira gave a soft chuckle in response as she gently gripped the hilt of her plasma sword. “Let’s get to work then, shall we?” She quipped, giving a sidelong glance towards Jango.
“…I think that’s the most sensible thing that’s come out of your mouth since I met you.” He replied, making his way deeper into the warehouse.
Kira blinked, and bit down on her lip while throwing Jango a nasty look. “…not a very nice person. I’m still tempted to kick you in the back of the knees, you know that?"
Rune clambered her way up the side of several stacked packing crates and cautiously lifted her head. It was mostly dark except for the end, where a light shone through a window of what had to be an office of some sort. Leaping from stack to stack, she made her way to where she could see through the window. There were several men talking. She bounded back towards Kira and Jango, dropping to the floor in front of them with a soft “whumph”.
The shimmer seem to run up her body this time as she changed back to her human form. “There are some men in an office at the far end. They don’t seem overly worried or aware that we’re here. But don’t take my word for it. Why don’t you go break up their happy little tea party yourselves?”
Jango gave a curt nod before glancing over at Rune. “Will do. Nice work.” He said, as he began making his way down the hall, gripping both of his blasters in the process.
A soft chuckle escaped Kira’s lips as she followed in behind Jango. “Always on the move…” She mused, quietly deactivating her plasma sword, in an attempt to gain an advantage in the upcoming battle. “Although…I’d do anything for just one plasma grenade…” She muttered softly to herself.
“Still planning on using that sword of yours? “ Jango asked, as he turned his attention towards Kira. ‘Hm. Even though she has quite the mouth on her…She’s definitely a force to be reckoned with…’ He blinked at the thought, then shoved it aside, not wanting to distract himself from the mission.
“ ‘hell’s yeah.” Kira replied, a wicked grin tugged at the corner of her lips as she lightly gripped the plasma sword hilt in her left hand.
Rune rolled her eyes. The shimmer ran down her body, leaving a sleek and very lethal Nexu in her place. She stretched luxuriously, unsheathing each claw one by one. Blinking, she switched from her regular set of eyes to the second, infrared pair. Grinning with her toothy maw, she slipped by the other two right up to the door and sat delicately beneath the window. With a purely feline look of satisfaction, Rune lifted a paw and flicked it at the door. Her intention was clear; no one was getting out of the room with out her leave.
Kira blinked, then glanced back at Jango. “This is gonna be one hell of a mission…” She said, grinning wickedly.
He gave a slight nod as he took a couple small steps towards Kira. “See if you can take out some of those thugs alright? I’ll deal with Gloom.” He whispered quietly.
“Got it. Just make sure that you don’t shoot me anytime soon…” Kira joked, as she slipped past Jango in order to reach the office.
Jango gave a soft chuckle before he could stop himself. “What makes you think I’d do that?” He asked, smirking slightly from beneath his helmet.
Kira blinked, not even bothering to turn around. “…Do I really need to answer that, Jango?” She replied, shifting the hilt of her plasma sword in her hand ever so slightly.

Rune snorted at the pair. Twisting around agilely, she rose to her hind feet and planted her front paws loudly on the glass. All the men turned to see what had made the noise. The ugly and rather toothy face of a Nexu pressed against the glass elicited not only shouts but a few screams as well. Once she was sure they were all paying very close attention, she gave the glass a long, slobbery lick and vanished. In truth she had simply dropped so fast it had only looked like she vanished but she wasn’t staying still to be shot at. Which is exactly what happened. The glass exploded outwards in a fine shower when the multiple shots hit it. Rune leaned into the wall, most of the shards missing her because of their projection.
Kira chuckled darkly as she activated her plasma sword, glancing over towards some of the thugs. “Let’s dance, shall we?” She quipped, lunging at the nearest thug.
Jango narrowed his eyes slightly as he gunned down a thug who was currently trying to sneak up on Kira. ‘Where the kark is Gloom?’ He asked himself.
She hissed softly as she felt a blaster bolt graze the upper part of her right arm. “Bad move, moron…” Kira muttered, impaling the guard that had shot her.
“Right on time..” Jango smirked slightly as he finally spotted Gloom high tailing it out of his office…And towards his drug dealing ship. “He’s on the run, Kira. Let’s go!”
Kira gave a brief nod before sprinting after Jango. “Got it. And like I said before, you’re not getting rid of me, Jango.” She said, grinning slightly.
“…I don’t think I’m going to comment on that.” He said sarcastically, as he shot his cable launcher, allowing the metal cable to wrap around Glooms right leg.
She chuckled softly. “You’re no fun.” Kira quipped, glancing back towards Glooms office. “….Poor bastards…Now the remaining ones have to get past Rune.” She snickered slightly at the thought.
Rune lay in a classic cat hunting pose, close to the ground, every muscle tensed. The first man to reach the door never saw what knocked him down. Rune shot out a hooked-claw paw, swiping the man’s feet from below him. She was up in a flash and on the man even quicker. Grabbing the back of his neck in her mouth, she shook him like a rag doll, snapping his neck. The other man who had skidded to a halt when he saw his companion looked at her in utter shock. He tried to bring his gun up but she whacked it from his hands before he could even think of pulling the trigger. His eyes got bigger than Rune thought was humanly possible and promptly fainted. Rune cat-sneezed. Pathetic.
She ducked and belly-crawled under the table that came flying at her. There was one man left in the room and he had obviously dealt with Nexu before. You don’t let them get close and you kill them as fast as you can, never, ever hesitating. Except Rune wasn’t just a Nexu. The man whipped a chair at her as she charged forward at him, just as she should. Then she did something a Nexu would never do; side step. The man didn’t even have time to register the fact he had missed before he was laid open from forehead to groin.
The man who had fainted began to stir. Rune glanced at him before trotting over to sit on his chest. If Kira and Jango wanted her help, she was sure she would hear the screams from the poor bastards who thought they might make it out.
Jango shook his head as he casually strolled up to Gloom. “Start talking, Gloom. Who are you selling your deathsticks to? “ He snarled, aiming one of his twin Westar’s at Glooms head.
“Hey! I’m just a low-end deathstick dealer. I don’t know a karking thing, bounty hunter! I swear!” Gloom protested, as he attempted to move away from Jango.
Kira threw Gloom a nasty glare. “You’re a god-damned liar, Gloom. Give us the information. Now.” She took a single step towards Gloom, her energy sword quietly pulsing.
“Alright! Alright!” Gloom cringed as he turned his attention towards Jango. “ His name is Haugg. Groff Haugg. He’s currently in the Industrial district. But for his exact location. I don’t know! I swear!! “
Jango nodded and stood up. “And from the way I see it, you no longer need your ship.” He mused, before glancing at Kira. “Let’s go.” He said.
Rune cocked her head. Sounded like everything had stopped. She stared hard at the man she was sitting on, who was, at the moment, playing dead as best as he could. Rising, she rolled him over with a paw and took the back of his jacket in her mouth, dragging him out the door. Gloom was attempting to grab his dropped gun as Kira and Jango walked away. The man still in her mouth, she simply walked up behind Gloom and smacked him upside the head hard enough to smash his head into the pavement.
“Nice of you to join us, Rune. “Kira said, as she glanced over her right shoulder, cringing slightly as the blaster wound on her arm began protesting at the sudden movement.
Jango blinked, then stopped; placing his hand on Kira’s forearm in order to get her attention. “You alright?” He asked softly.
Kira sighed, clipping her now deactivated sword on her belt before turning her gaze towards Jango. “ I’m fine, Jango. I’ve had worse wounds than this.” She trailed off for a moment. “Way worse…” She added quietly, as she unconsciously rubbed the back of her neck with her left hand in a gentle manner.
Rune bound forward, dropping the man hard enough to stun him. She changed while moving, snatching Kira’s hand from her neck. She stared at the scar there. “You will tell how you got this later,” she growled harshly.

Kira’s eyes narrowed dangerously as she turned towards Rune. “Like hell I will.” She replied coldly, yanking her hand free from Rune’s grip.
A slight scowl grazed Jango’s lips from behind his visor. “We really should get moving if we’re going to catch up with Haugg.” He said, shifting his gaze towards Kira.
“You’re right, we’re wasting time here.” Kira replied. “And as a side note, I have no god damn intention of explaining the scar on the back of my neck. So don’t even ask.” She added sharply, her gaze shifting towards Rune in a cold manner.
Jango blinked at that. ‘Seems that I’m not the only one with a troubled past…’ He mused, as he walked up the loading ramp of Glooms ship.
Kira gave her head a light shake as she followed in behind Jango. ‘No need to dwell on the past now, what’s done is done…’ She thought to herself. ‘And I seriously hope that I never encounter the Flood again. Stupid god damned…’ Biting down on her lower lip, Kira shoved the thought aside. Rune glared at her, “We’ll see.” Turning to Jango she simply said, with a perfectly straight face, “I’ll sit in the back, oh impatient one, and give you two some alone time.” She bound up through the hatch before he could say otherwise and plunked herself in her seat. Rune waited with watchful eyes until the other two had settled in and sealed the cockpit. She pulled out a small, disc-like communicator and thumbed a button.
A tiny, holographic image of Master Yoda appeared on the screen, “Find her you did, hmmm?”
Rune stopped herself from snarling, “Yes I did. And I would have appreciated knowing how difficult she is! I’ll be straight forward. I can’t do this alone... I need help but it can’t be anyone who knows me. That would be compromising. If you have anyone, ANYONE, who can help it would make this quite a bit easier. Otherwise this is going to be a wasted effort.”
Yoda thumped his little walking stick on the ground, “Done or not done. Not effort. See I will about padawan for you, yes?”
“No! No padawans for me! I’m no master to be training any student!” She protested this violently, her horror evident.
“Fit will be the person who helps you. No worries should you have,” Yoda disappeared with a flicker of the hologram and a chuckle. -------------------------------------------------------------- “You sure you’re alright?” Jango asked, shifting his gaze towards Kira as he finished putting in the coordinates into the navicomputer.
A bit of a sigh escaped Kira’s lips as she gently rubbed her temples with her fingers. “I’m fine, really. It’s just a small burn.” She replied, allowing herself to lean against the wall opposite of Jango.
“You know that’s not what I was talking about.” He said, taking his helmet off in the process.
Kira threw him a nasty look. “Weren’t you listening before?” She asked. “My past is my own, and I prefer to have anyone try to pry into it.” She added, crossing her arms lightly over her chest.
Jango bit down on the inside of his right cheek for a moment. ‘Kriff. She’s impossible…’ He mused, before narrowing his eyes at Kira. “Alright, fine. We’ll change the subject then.” He trailed off for a moment, before picking up again. “Why you of all people to become my informant?” He asked, sitting himself down in the pilot’s seat.
“Don’t know, really. My employer said that an informant was needed, and I volunteered. End of story. I wasn’t told much of anything.” Kira said honestly, giving her shoulders a bit of a shrug.
“Interesting…” Jango replied quietly, leaning back in the pilot’s chair, allowing himself to think for a moment. “And that weapon you carry, what is it, exactly?” He asked, glancing over at her again.
A small smirk tugged at the corner of Kira’s lips. “I carry dual M9 Barettas.” She said. “They fire nine millimeter copper jacket slugs. Twelve rounds per clip.” She added.
Jango smirked as well. “Dual wielding.” He said. “You’re my kind of woman.” He added slyly.
Kira snorted at that, despite the fact that a faint blush was creeping across her cheeks at his comment. “So you do have a sense of humor.” She mused.
“Never said that I didn’t.” He replied, turning his attention back towards the controls.
“…You infuriate me.” Kira muttered, as she glared at Jango.
He glanced back and smirked. “I could say the same for you.” He countered.
Kira shook her head and sighed. “I’m not sure I want to comment on that one, Fett.” She muttered in reply.
“Daughter of my enemy, why are you here?”
Rune listened to the soft murmurs from the cockpit. It didn't sound like they were killing each other. Best to catch some shut eye will she could. It didn't look like she was gonna get another chance tonight and if Master Yoda sent her some untrained hooligan she wouldn't be getting any anytime soon.
Kira blinked, and stiffened. Her blood running cold in the process. “ You son of a....Get out of my head.NOW.” She replied angrily, clenching both of her hands into fists.
“Alright, Haugg should be somewhere in the Industrial district.” Jango mused, as he glanced over at Kira. He blinked. “What’s wrong?” He asked, taking notice of how pale her face was.
She bit back a snarl. “Nothing. Just drop it.” Kira replied. “ I am a monument to all of your sins…” She bit down on her lip again as she shoved the gravely sounding voice out of her mind.
Jango narrowed his eyes slightly. “Certainly doesn’t sound like nothing, from the way your acting.” He replied. “Come on, spill. What’s wrong?”
Kira glared at him even more. “Go to hell.” She replied coldly, before briskly walking out of the cockpit.
Rune faintly heard the cockpit door swoosh open. She paid no heed until Kira stepped through the door. Her eyes snapped open and she was up and out of her chair before Kira could even blink. Grabbing a hold of Kira’s shoulders, she forced her to look her directly in the eye. “Who the bloody hell is in your head?”
“That. Is none of your concern.” Kira snarled, pulling free of Runes grip. “We exist together now? Two corpses in one grave…” The same gravely sounding voice echoed in Kira’s mind. “Now if you’ll excuse me.” She said abruptly, making her way past Rune and towards the cargo bay.
Rune followed her, “Oh no you don’t. You have some answers to some questions that I want to ask you. It’s time we hashed out the whole ‘Earth’ thing anyway. I won’t pry but there’s some general information I need to get from you. I don’t need specifics and I’ll answer what you ask me but communication is being initiated. Now sit or stand as you will child,” She gestured to the surrounding crates.
Kira snorted. “ ‘Child’?” She asked. “ I think I’ve been insulted…” She replied sarcastically. “But..Fine. What do you want to know?” She relented, gazing quietly at Rune. ‘The real question is…How much information do I give about the Flood..?’ She asked herself.
With an arched eyebrow, Rune coldly replied, “I’m old enough to be your great great grandmother more likely than not. My race ages quite a bit more slowly than yours does,” She grinned then. “I’m glad you’re reasonable at least. I’ll make this easy and ask them all in one go. When were you on Earth? What happened? Not specifically mind you, just enough to give me an idea if that’s what you want. And what did that to you?” She flicked her fingers in the direction of Kira’s neck, “ And can you control the thing in your head. Just sensing it gives me the heebejeebes!” She shivered dramatically.
She gave a slight grimace. “ I was on Earth a few months ago..Joined the army..” She said quietly, before continuing. “Fought in a god damned bloody civil war, the usual.” She added, before hesitating on the last two questions. “I’d prefer not to give any information on that..At least not yet..Now’s not the time..” She mused. “ And lastly, I can block him out of my head..Well..Most times anyways..” She muttered darkly.
Rune sighed. “Alright. Just remember. I’m more sensitive to that kind of thing than most. It’s a racial trait. If I think you’re gonna lose it I won’t hesitate to act,” She smiled. “I was there during World War Two. A considerable time before you were!” She rose. “I’d better go lead Jango off the scent. He’ll get paranoid with us here by ourselves.” She drifted out of the cargo bay and down the corridor. She had snippets of information from the Sun solar system but nothing solid. A group known as the Covenant and strange life forms that used dead bodies as a basis for life. If Kira had gone through that, there would be plenty she wouldn’t want to remember.
She palmed the cockpit door shut and settled into the seat by Jango. “What did you do to make her that mad?”
Jango threw her an irritated look. “Nothing. All I did was ask her what was wrong.” He growled softly. “ Kriffing woman…” He muttered under his breath. “Pretty sure she won’t tell me a god damn karking thing.” He shrugged as he thought about it. “Then again, it’s not my problem anyway..”

Rune sighed, “You and me both. Her mouth is sealed tighter than a pickle jar when it comes to herself and wickeder than a cat o’ nine tails when it comes to lashing someone else. I don’t want all the sordid details of her life but wouldn’t it be nice to know enough to make conversation with? What say you Oh Illustrious Space Man?” She glanced him from the corner of her eye, not turning he head to actually look at him.
He thought for a moment. “She’s a force to be reckoned with, that’s for sure…” Jango replied, glancing over at Rune. “And you’re right, she does have quite the mouth on her.” He chuckled softly and shook his head in amusement. ‘She’s got quite the spirit too…’ He mused, shifting slightly in the pilot’s seat.
“Is that a note of admiration I detect? I thought you had no use for women? Did you have a bad experience? Or is it your line of work?” She added slyly. She needed more intel on this guy. Not his whole life story or anything. Rune could care less but she needed enough to know what she was dealing with.
“I never said that I have no use for women.” Jango countered, throwing Rune an irritated glare. “And if that were the case, both of you wouldn’t be here now, would you?” He said glancing out the cockpit window. “I have nothing against women. I just prefer to work alone, that’s all.” He added, crossing his arms lightly over his chest.
"Work alone at what?" Rune replied bluntly. "Cloning yourself in a mad scientist experiment? Helping a power-hungry mad man build an empire?" She snorted. "You must lead a real exciting life buddy."
Jango shook his head again. “I think I’d prefer Kira’s company any day…” He said sarcastically, standing up in the process. “We’re in the industrial district. Let’s just hope that Haugg hasn’t gone too far ahead.” He added, in order to change the subject.
Rune raised an eyebrow. "Right," She drawled. She bound out of the cockpit in her typical fashion and shouted down the corridor on her way to the hatch. "Kiraaa! Your company is preferred!"
She leapt out of the hatch before it had even fully opened and changed mid-leap. Landing on the ground with a wet thunk, she slid her way across the floor and into a vent. Working her way up the vent, she found a hole leading to the building's wiring. She wiggled her antennae with pleasure as the electricity ran through her. Just what a conduit worm ordered.
He sighed as he put his helmet on. “This mission is certainly becoming more interesting, that’s for sure..” Jango muttered, making his way down the ramp of the ship, with Kira following in behind him.
“My company is preferred, huh?” Kira asked, a small smirk tugging at the corner of her mouth as she walked alongside Jango. ‘At least we’re on civil terms now…’ She thought to herself.
He glanced over at her briefly. “Possibly.” He said. “Only when you’re not being impossible or infuriating.” He added, smirking slightly from behind his helmet.
“…Okay, forget kicking you in the back of the knees.” Kira said, grinning sadistically. “ I could easily deflate your ego by kicking you somewhere else if you manage to piss me off enough.” She added innocently.
Jango blinked, then blinked again. “…I think I’ll just stay ahead of you from now on..” He said, unholstering his twin blasters in the process.
Kira gave a soft chuckle. “It’s so easy to poke fun at you Jango, you know that?” She said, as they made their way through the industrial district.
He glanced over at her for a moment, before speaking. “The carbon freezing chambers are just ahead, we can cut through them in order to get to Haugg.” Jango said, deciding to ignore Kira for now.
“Fine with me.” Kira replied, unholstering both of her M9 Barettas and clicking the safeties off. “Let’s kick ass and take names, shall we?” She asked, grinning.
Jango gave a soft chuckle before he could stop himself. “Sounds good to me.” He said, gunning down another thug stupid enough to get in his way.
Kira blinked, and scowled slightly as she spotted a lone figure in the middle of the carbon freezing chambers. “…Lovely..” She muttered, gently nudging Jango in the side with her elbow. “We have a slight problem…” She said sarcastically.
He glanced over in the direction that Kira was pointing to, and snarled. “You stay here. I’ll deal with him.” Jango said, gripping his blasters tightly. “Montross!”
Montross glanced over his shoulder and sneered. “About damn well time you showed up, Fett.” He grinned wickedly. “Huh, these plant bosses never put up much of a fight, do they?” He asked, gently nudging the slab of carbonite which contained a dead Haugg.
“And look who’s here as well..” Montross chuckled darkly as he glanced over at Kira. “Didn’t think you’d take on a partner, Jango, and a female partner at that.” He paused for a moment, grinning even more. “I guess even you're not immune to the charm of an attractive woman, right Fett?”
Jango gritted his teeth and aimed his blasters at Montross’s head. “Shut the kark up.” He hissed. ‘Focus, Fett, otherwise you’ll get yourself killed.’ He thought, before activating his jetpack and rocketing up into the air, peppering Montross with blaster fire.
“Struck a nerve, have I?” He drawled, dive rolling to the right to avoid Jango’s blaster fire.
Jango growled, and fired again, allowing that to be his response to Montross’s question. ‘He’s trying to bait you, ignore him.’ A small voice whispered softly.
“I’ll take that as a yes then.” Montross grinned, ducking under several more blaster shots before using his own jetpack in order to land near his ship. “Look forward to our next encounter, Fett.” He said, giving a mock salute before boarding his ship.
Jango snarled again as he landed and deactivated his jetpack. “Kriffing..” He muttered, re-holstering his blasters.
“…Jango?” Kira said softly, as she came up alongside him. “You alright?” She asked, gently placing her left hand on his shoulder.
“I’m fine.” He replied quietly, removing his helmet in order to wipe the sweat from his forehead.
Kira sighed and shook her head. “You’re a horrible liar, you know that?”
“Not going to comment on that.” He replied, glancing over at her for a brief moment.
“ Try not to let him get to you, alright?” Kira asked, giving his shoulder a light squeeze.
The corner of Jango’s mouth twitched upwards slightly. “I’ll try not to.” He said, earning a small smile from Kira in response.
“Glad to hear it.” She said, giving him a quick, light kiss on the cheek before heading over towards a nearby console.
